What is Health Equity?

Health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
To achieve health equity, we must work towards breaking down barriers to care, addressing
patterns and problems that lead to unfair practices, and working together as a community to
promote good health and wellness for all.

Our Mission

To ensure that all members of our community are able to obtain their highest level of health by
addressing and reducing health disparities in our area and forming lasting community
partnerships.

Our Goals

Reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes of members of our community
Empower our local communities and residents to take charge of their health
Create and maintain a an inclusive and culturally competent workforce
Establish and commit to equitable practices across all WCHD divisions
